COVID-19 Update 10/13/21

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Today we received information that two students in the Junior Senior High School tested positive for COVID-19.  These students were not in school recently and contact tracing is not required. Also today, we received information that a staff member at BCES tested positive for COVID-19.  Contact tracing was not required.  No further actions need to be taken at this time.

Please note: All quarantines require a quarantine release prior to the student or staff member returning to school.  If you do not receive a quarantine order from the Sullivan County Department of Public Health within 48 hours, you must contact them directly so you will be in their system to receive the quarantine release.   This will help avoid any delays returning to school (Sullivan County Public Health Services COVID-19 Information Line: 845-513-2268).

Please be sure to check your messages frequently for any important updates from the school district. Student, staff, and visitor safety continues to be our number one priority and we would like to thank you for working with us during these challenging times!

For Covid-19 information and resources, please see the message below from Nancy McGraw, director of the Sullivan County Department of Health.

Dr. Ivan Katz

From Nancy McGraw and the Sullivan County Department of Public Health:

Current CDC guidance states that being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 ensures that our staff and students remain safe, and can help avoid quarantine if you are exposed to someone who tests positive as long as you remain asymptomatic and have consistently worn a mask.
