Dear Colleagues, Early this afternoon, we were informed that one student at the Junior Senior High School tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, we have to complete contact tracing on a bus, a sports team, 4 classes and a lunch period.

We are working on contact tracing and all potential primary exposures at this time. However, due to the number of people we have to trace, the tracing cannot be completed tonight.

As a result, the Junior Senior High School will be closed tomorrow for in person instruction for students and we will switch to remote learning for the day. All Junior Senior HS staff are to report to the building. Affected classrooms will be closed and taking care of as per our cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

Contact tracing will continue tomorrow. We will update you as soon as we have additional information to share. We hope that the exposures and required quarantines are at a minimum and we can reopen Wednesday, but we will let you know as soon as possible. BCES is not affected and will remain open.

Thank you for working with us and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Dr. Ivan Katz

From Nancy McGraw:
Current CDC guidance states that being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 ensures that our staff and students remain safe, and can help avoid quarantine if you are exposed to someone who tests positive as long as you remain asymptomatic and have consistently worn a mask.
